겨울나무(A winter tree)

 

겨울나무는 옷을 벗어도 야하지 않다.

되레 깨달은 사람처럼 품위 있어 보인다.

A winter tree is not gaudy taking their clothes off.

Rather, it seems graceful like a realized man.

 

빈 몸이어도 궁색(窮塞)해 보이지 않는다.

오히려 이미 다 가지고 있는 것처럼 넉넉해 보인다.

It does not seem to be in needy even with an empty body.

Rather, it seems rich as if it already has everything.

   

자칫 운이 나빠 속살이 드러나면 명상에 든다.

걱정이 되어 끌어안으니 신기하게도 따스하다.

It is lost in meditation if it may be wounded due to a bad luck.

It mesteriously warms when I hug it  with the some worry.

   

겨울나무는 칼바람이 불고 진눈깨비가 내리는 날에도 

잠에서 깨어 아침이란 선물을 받는 냥 하늘을 우러러 기지개를 켠다.

A winter tree strecthes high in the sky as if it receives a morning as a gift

even in the day when it winds cold and sleet falls.
